Another 4 girls trip - Chiang Mai & Chiang Rai

I know, the last 4 girls trip was in Lombok & Gili. This round, I went to Chiang Mai & Chiang Rai with another 3 girls, for 4D3N.

Day 1

We arrived at the airport at about 3.30pm. The airport is rather small. So the lines of immigration counter was terrible, horrible, vegetable.

The airport is located rather near to where we were staying. At first, we bought a 250 Thai baht taxi. The line to wait for the airport taxi was crazy so we resolved to taking Grab instead. We should have done that so much earlier! It only costed 187 Baht. and now waiting in line!!

We gotten a 7-day travellers sim cuz that's the minimum purchase, under AIS network, with the cost of 249 Baht, providing unlimited data.

We checked in at Little Bear's Home. It had good reviews and it is located near lots of shops and massage centres. All within walking distance.

So our first night, we went to Night Bazaar of Chiang Mai. you can buy souvenirs for your friends and family. we had our dinner there. Dinner: 1310 Baht

Day 2

Breakfast: Settled at 7-11, that's like the cheapest meal ever

We booked a tour with "Withlocals" to go to Chiang Rai. We visited Blue Temple, White Temple, Mae Kajan Hot Spring, local markets and local eateries. All tasted so good with really cheap price!

You will see this in pharmacies. It's really good for the throat.

After WHITE TEMPLE, we had Khao Soi. Som Tam is really great! Delizioso!

Day 3

It's a chilling day!~

Morning: breakfast beside our hotel (240 Baht)

What a nice day! It's Flower Festival in Chiang Mai! A stretch of road was blocked for parade. The floats were beautifully decorated with flowers and petals and they are really fantastico!

Lunch: Fuji restaurant in Maya Lifestyle shopping centre (1045 Baht)
I didn't expect the mall to be modern of which I thought it's like one of those in Sandakan. LOL~
But it wasn't! It's a decent mall with really good retailers inside!

We went to Wararot market (I hope I spell it right) to have our last chance of shopping. This place is great for food and fruit shopping actually.

Can't wait to go for Body scrub and massage. it's not the cheapest, but it's definitely cheaper than what I used to have.

I went to Ziam Spa. it's walking distance from where we stayed.


Dinner: Hot Chilli (1595 Baht)
This is the must try place, according to the locals. Don't expect it to be the local style of Thai. The cuisine is of fusion.

Day 4

It's time to pack and go back.

I like this corner! it's Sunny out there but it's 19 degrees.

Flight at 3.10pm

it's a Sunday so we want to attend church service. We found Acts Church in the website and so we went. The service starts at 9.30am. I like the spiritual atmosphere of the church. From the worship to the end. We were being welcomed. Well, haven't been having this experience for so long already.

We reached airport at 12.30pm. THANKFULLY WE REACHED EARLIER! 10 min after we lined up for the AirAsia check in counter queue, some 50m long queue was being formed!

We had our lunch at Grand Canyon Coffee House.


Let's breakdown our costs so far

Little Bear's Home (4 in a room) - RM750 for 3 nights
Transportation (mixture of Tuk Tuk and Grab for all 4 days) - 965 Baht
Day trip tour to Chiang Rai - RM790 (approximately)
Total meals for 4 of us, 4 days (approximate) - 5450 Baht. we don't really splurge on food though
